What is the hardest dance competition in the US? ›

TDA is widely regarded as a prestigious award presented for dance in the US, and is considered to be one of the toughest competitions internationally for young pre-professional dancers.

Platinum, Elite High Gold, High Gold, Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards will be given out during each competition.

Showstopper American Dance Championships is a dance competition that hosts competitions in over 54 cities in the United States.

HIGH GOLD RANKINGS – Each dancer that scores 98% or higher is also awarded a HIGH GOLD. If you are by yourself, or competing against others, you strive not only to get a first place score (29.2 or higher), but you also dance to score a first place HIGH GOLD (29.5 or higher).

ELITE LEVEL: Platinum Plus: 300-285 Platinum: 284-270 High Gold: 269-263 Gold: 262 & below. One award will be given to the studio for their entry's achievement: Platinum Plus, Platinum, High Gold, or Gold. Individual placement pins indicating the entry's achievement will be given to each participant in a group/line.

Typically, each dance routine is evaluated by a panel of judges and scored on various criteria such as technique, performance, choreography, and overall impression. Scores are usually given on a scale, often out of 100 points.

94 and above means you did very good according to the standards , scores in between 88.5 and 93.5 means you had some mistakes, scores below 88.5 you had some consistent, easy to identify issues with the dance at this level. The dances you got a lower score, are the ones that need more work.

It is the strongest, and most versatile position on the stage. This position creates a feeling of confidence and balance. It is neither close to nor far from the audience, so they can focus on the big picture or the details, depending on how you direct their attention.

Advise your dancers to stay away from fast food, sugary treats and caffeine, and refrain from overloading on carbs. Instead, opt for a well-balanced meal that will help them feel satiated and get to bed on time. Finally, it's important for you and your dancers to get a full night's sleep before a competition.

Usually I just write something like "I hope you enjoy dancing tonight" in a card, then the dancer know I mean good luck even if I haven't said it.
