TheNCTM 2023 Annual Meeting in Washington, DC offers a valuable opportunity to learnabout the latest topics and trends in mathematics education, improve yourinstructional practice, network, and much more.Use NCTM’s justificationtoolkit to help define and clearly communicate the benefits of attendance toadministrators and supervisors so you can make your case.

Yes, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center is ADA compliant. NCTM is committed to ensuring that our events are fully accessible to all persons. For any ADA requirements, please contact NCTM Conference Services at [emailprotected] by September 27, 2023.

Due to the large size of this event, distances between sessions can be considerable. If you can get along without a wheelchair but feel that you may need one to navigate the distances at the conference, electric scooters can be rented from https://scootaround.com/en/washington-dc. Mobility devices will be dropped off at the Information Booth (Grand Lobby) of the Convention Center. Should you arrive and determine services will be needed, the ambassadors at the desk are available to assist with your rental needs.

The public sidewalks serving the Walter E. Washington Convention Center feature curb cuts for wheelchair access. Automatic doors are located at the Mt. Vernon Place, L Street, and Metro entrances to the Center. Inside the center, meeting rooms, exhibit halls and common areas are all served by conveniently located elevators. Telephones, drinking fountains and restrooms throughout the building are wheelchair accessible.

If you require an interpreter,please submit your request before September 27, 2023. After this date, NCTMcannot guarantee requests for interpreters can be fulfilled; however, we willmake every effort to accommodate requests. Please note: On-site requests forinterpreters cannot be guaranteed without advance notice. Send your requeststo [emailprotected].

If you are blind or visually impaired and require an aide or personal assistant to help you navigate the Annual Meeting, NCTM will register your aide as a complimentary guest (if the aide is not a teacher). Information must be sent to [emailprotected] by September 27, 2023.

Individuals traveling from outside of the United States toattend a NCTM event may request a Letter of Invitation to the event. The lettermay be used to support an individual's request for organizational orgovernmental clearance to attend the event.

Individuals requesting a Letter of Invitation to an NCTM eventmust be fully registered - including payment in full - for the NCTM event forwhich they are requesting an invitation. Individuals do not have to be a memberof NCTM to request a Letter of Invitation.

A Letter of Invitation issued by NCTM will:

  • Be addressed directly to theindividual requesting the invitation
  • Include the name, date, andlocation of the NCTM event
  • Indicate the individual'sresponsibility for all expenses related to his/her participation in theNCTM event (including registration, travel and accommodations)
  • Be signed by an authorized NCTMRepresentative
  • All letters of invitation willbe sent via email. If you require a printed letter, please contact [emailprotected].Additional fees may apply.

Yes. NCTM offersgroups of five or more a significant discount. Each group registration mustinclude a primary contact and separate email addresses for each attendee.Groups paying for their conference registration with a purchase order canregister online and upload the purchase order form to expedite the process.

Individuals payingwith a purchase order can register online and upload the purchase order form toexpedite the process. Purchase order can also be mailed to NCTM ConferenceRegistration, P.O. Box 844277, Dallas, TX 75284-4277 or faxed to 1 (888)289-9844 (toll-free) / 1 (514) 289-9844 (international). PO’s should be received within 30 days of registering for the conference.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Cancellation/Refund Policy
• Cancellation requests must be received in writing on or before September 27, 2023.
• NCTM will issue a full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee per person for each individual or group registration. NCTM will charge a $25 cancellation fee per person for emeritus member registration. Individuals and groups paying with a purchase order are still responsible for the cancellation fee.
• Optional Events (such as workshops, the MET Celebration and yoga), membership dues and donations arenon-refundable.
• Refund requests will not be honored after September 27, 2023, even for no-shows.
• Substitutions are allowed but must be received via email or letter prior to September 27, 2023. Substitutes must submit a letter explaining who they are substituting (and include registration number if possible). Nonmembers substituting for members will be charged the current nonmember registration rate. In addition, no discount will be given for members substituting for nonmembers.
• Note that a group must contain at least 5 fully paid/non-cancelled/non-pending registrations to remain eligible for discounted pricing. If the confirmed group size drops below five, each remaining group participant will be changed to an individual and balance adjusted accordingly.
• Refunds will be issued between eight and ten weeks after the Annual Meeting.

NCTM MET grantsoffer annual funding opportunities for teacher professional development. MET grant application deadlines are May 1 and November 1 and include financial assistance for first-time attendees at an NCTM Annual Meeting andExposition.

Student members are automatically offered thestudent member discount when registering online. Student membership is designedfor those enrolled in an accredited college or university as a full-timestudent with an interest in mathematics education. Proof of student status suchas registration, class schedule, professor verification, etc., is required. Formore information visitNCTM membership

Letters regarding speaker proposal decisions for the event were sent out in April. In this communication, speakers received an invitation to register along with instructions. If you have questions or did not receive a letter, please send a note to[emailprotected]

Member discountsare applied at registration. If registering by phone, you will need to supply amember number to receive the discount. The2023 NCTM Annual Meeting & Exposition will be held in person, October 25-28, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. There is no online component for thisevent.

Dress for this event is business casual. Comfortable shoes are recommended.The average forecasted weather in Washington, DC in late October is around 65 degrees, with chances of rain at any time. While business casual is suggested for the event, keep in mind the Convention Center and hotel meeting room temperatures will fluctuate depending on size of room and attendance. Coat Racks will be made available throughout the convention space. Bag and coat check will not be available at the event.

Name badges must be worn to gain entry to all annual meeting sessions. Your name badge is about what you want to be called, and attendees have the flexibility to modify their badge name and pronouns. Use your registration ID to log in and update your badge display information to modify your name badge. Pronouns are available for selection from a drop-down list. If your pronouns are unavailable for selection, please email [emailprotected] so that we can add them to the drop-down menu. A certificate of attendance will be available to event attendees. It may be used to demonstrate attendance at the NCTM Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington, DC.

NCTM has partnered with the University of San Diego to provide an additional 1.0 graduate level extension credit in semester hours. You must track and attend 12 hours of programming at the Annual Meeting and submit a form to NCTM, to receive credit. Click here for more information.

NCTM TVwill produce daily episodes throughout the conference. Each episode will feature:

  • Conference News:Onsite,NCTM TVwill film interviews, capture session highlights, and hear attendee insights and reactions from around the conference.
  • In-Depth Reports:Five-minute pre-recorded documentary-style films will be featured, from universities, institutions, and organizations highlighting programs, case studies, and ongoing initiatives that are making a difference.

At the meeting,NCTM TVwill be on screens around the venue, in selected attendee hotels on dedicated TV channels, and available online through video and social media platforms
